Homemade Valentine Ideas For Kids {Or adults. I like these too!}

I love the idea of making homemade Valentines for my kids to pass out at school. I also do not have a creative bone in my body. So I did a little bit of looking online and there are so many creative ideas out there – that don’t involve a lot of time, supplies and money.

I have outlined a few of my favorites here and hopefully this will inspire you to get creative and think outside the box. Literally. Outside of those little pre-made boxes of cards. ;)

My children’s school does not allow outside treats, due to common allergies, so I will include a few that don’t involve candy. (Which is fine with me, since I think that kids get too much candy on Valentine’s Day!).

This is a super cool idea from The Creative Mama. She even includes FREE printable gift tags! I like the idea of giving a fun toy, that the kids can enjoy after the holiday as well.

Another quick and easy toy idea from Dandee-Designs. My kids love magnifying glasses and will play with these for hours!

Family Fun has some really great ideas, including these cute and simple lollipop hearts.

My kids love doing Mad Libs, so my oldest daughter is so excited about these Mad Lib Valentines. Really simple and inexpensive. You could use any type of decorative paper for the outside – wrapping paper, construction paper, etc. (Here are a couple of sites that have printable Mad Lib pages: Word Game World and Classroom Jr.).

Bless This Mess has a great way to encourage your kids to eat more fruit! ;) This is such a cute (and healthy) idea!

My son is loving this idea from Random Thoughts of a Supermom, for Play-Doh Valentines. You could even save quite a bit of money by making homemade play-doh and using clean, empty baby food jars (or something similar). (I have a recipe for homemade play-doh that I am willing to share. Let me know if you would like this).

I would love to hear your ideas for creative and unique Valentines. Have a wonderful day! :)
