I've been working like crazy to keep my mini container garden going, which has been a really fun project. The kids and I love going out every day to water the plants and check their progress. Oh, and I added a cucumber plant, too! My tomato plants have grown quite a bit since I planted them. I even have one tiny tomato growing! And quite a few of these little yellow flowers...which hopefully means we will have more tomatoes soon! I lost one of my tomato plants due to a soil fungus. :( I almost lost another one, but thanks to some tips from my local nursery and a couple of awesome readers (thanks, Michele and Michelle!), I was able to nurse it back to life. … [Read more...]

Yeah, I'm more than just a little behind on getting a garden started. For one reason or another, we just haven't made time to get out there and do the work. I picked up a tomato plant at the farmers market over the weekend, so hopefully that will give me some motivation to pick up some more plants soon. I figure if nothing else, I can at least have a mini container garden. Yay! The galvanized tub I am using has been sitting in my backyard for a couple of years now, serving no real purpose at all.
